Christmas message from Ramallah Friends School
A Season of Hope and Resilience

As we enter this season of reflection and hope, I extend my warmest greetings to our school community and friends. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with peace, strength, and renewed hope.
While our daily lives continue to present uncertainties and profound challenges across every aspect of life, the resilience of our students, families, and teachers continues to inspire us as a school community. Their care for one another, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to learning remind us that hope is not passive; it is something we actively nurture to sustain us.
Many ask why our school’s social media sometimes portrays our lives as normal. As I tell them, the truth is that it is far from normal. What is seen, however, is the collective effort of our administration, staff, teachers, students, and parents to create spaces of stability, dignity, and continuity for our children. These moments are intentional acts of care, rooted in our deep belief in their right to learn, to dream, and to imagine a future beyond the daily challenges. We do this because we believe deeply in their future. As we are reminded, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).
May this hope carry us through these difficult times toward a more just and peaceful future for our children.
With gratitude and hope,
Rania Ma’ayeh
